The big break

There’s a wonderful article in the Guardian Weekend about legendary fashion photographer David Bailey and his first major break. His hunch to go against the grain and to use his muse, model Jean Shrimpton, for his first shoot in New York for Vogue established him as one of the stars of fashion photography for years to come.

his model friend who became his girlfriend…i think they were even engaged at one point but broke it off.
