Photographer meets Art Director meets Ad Agency
Written on April 11, 2007
I’ve long been a fan of Andrew Zuckerman’s work and one of his most iconic campaigns has been his consistently excellent work for Puma. So I was interested to read an article by Adweek about Puma’s new campaign for the spring launch of a line of clothes and shoes dubbed French 77.
I hadn’t heard of the ad agency handling the work, called Late Nights and Weekends
so of course I googled them and came across their very simple site. And listed under ‘Where’ were the names of their two main employees - Alex Vlack and…Andrew Zuckerman.
A pretty clever business model…to form an agency to execute the creative and hire yourself out as photographer. Nice bundling of services there! Though I know agencies like Crispin Porter + Bogusky also have on staff art buyers who sometimes double as campaign shooters.
