It’s hard to imagine in our business that a company with 250 million dollars in revenue last year could be in any kind of trouble, but indeed, Corbis did not turn a profit. But as this article shows, the world of stock photography is still far more tumultuous than that of assignment. From the New York Times.

And as a logical follow up, Ron Steinman of the Digital Journalist discusses how the first photo agency, and indeed the first co-operative agency, Magnum, has managed to change with the times and still remain relevant, influential and presumably (and hopefully) profitable.
