Lots has been happening out there! Overheard from PDN…
“MS Logan photo repping agency and its fine art division Fred & Associates recently brought in several new hires. Elizabeth Lucas is MS Logan’s new managing director, coming from Ogilvy & Mather, where she was a senior partner working in the art buying department. Former Ogilvy art buyer Sharon Mendelow is MS Logan’s new director of sales and production. Jen Brill has been hired as director of new business development for Fred & Associates, coming from overseeing public relations and marketing for the Maritime Hotel in New York. Former Jane magazine director of photography Jennifer Miller will be working on an archive and resource library for Fred & Associates as well as a new project in development.”
So you see, you can become a photography agent in many different ways! I think that this is a pretty fantastic idea. It’s also interesting to see how different agencies structure their business. I am not sure what a managing director of a photo agency would do, especially as MS Logan has only one office here in New York, but the wealth of experience from these two former art buyers is a tremendous boon. Just like Josette Lata…I think a few art buyers are trying out the other side.
Also, ARTMIX is opening a beauty division…
