The Right Photographer for the Right Job (Henry Wolf would be proud)
Written on November 27, 2007
At that Blind Spot series a few weeks back, Collier Schorr made a comment (and I am wildly paraphrasing here) that she always finds it amusing when a client calls and says that she is the perfect fit for their product…and one time the product in question was KY Jelly (which apparently Ellen Von Unwerth ended up shooting).
Well her fellow photographer panelist that day Phillip-Lorca DiCorcia recently shot the Anne Klein campaign, and it’s pretty arguable (though he’d probably disagree, vehemently) that he was the perfect photographer for the job.

i just posted about this on my blog. Really the best fashion ads of the season.
man, I love diCorcia so much. i wish he would sell out (in good way) more.
BTW you spelled Philip wrong.
love you
I’m always fascinated by the really mainstream mundane work superphotogs still do -KY Jelly-.
The Anne Klein campaign knocks my socks off -stunning.
Keep up the wicked work -your blog rocks.
Am I the only one who is not very excited about these ads? This just leaves me very cold - it has intriguing DiCorcia lighting, but nothing human. Seems very detached, but maybe that’s the point.
like the ad, like PL but it really looks like the editorial work serge leblon has been doing since late 90s, and doing it well.
