Interesting competition and open call for submissions over at I Heart Photograph.
A Photograph of New Jersey. (Mildly surprised the url wasn’t taken…)
“You were born in New Jersey. You’ve been there. You’ve never been there. You know it from movies. TV. Songs. Newspapers. You’ve Googled it. YouTubed it. Wikipediaed it. Flickred it. You’ve never even heard of it.
So ask yourself: is it possible to make a photograph of New Jersey regardless of where you are in the world? The Pierro Gallery and iheartphotograph.com invite photographers, designers, and artists of all kinds to participate in this global open call for work.”
Not sure why New Jersey. Is it because the name generally inspires apathy and revulsion? Either way can’t wait to see the interpretations and submissions.

New Yorkers are from all over - Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, etc etc and yet these are the same people who enjoy to put down a state most know nothing about. And such a minimal percentage of these same people were actually were born + raised in Manhattan or the boroughs.
I’m looking forward to this project to see people show a positive image of New Jersey. And to show all of those ‘New Yorkers’ what they are missing.
I’m sorry to have offended. I am indeed one of many New Yorkers who were not originally from New York. I also have no problem making fun of where I am from.
I mean no disrespect to New Jersey or its denizens.
