Book of the Month

April 22, 2008

Since the Morgan Library unfortunately did not have reproduction rights to the amazing Irving Penn portraiture exhibition they hosted the last few months, I had to ’settle’ for a book by Penn called A Notebook At Random, which I found to be fascinating…a method to this man’s amazing artistry.  Worth picking up for sure.

From Style.com…in honour of Irving Penn’s upcoming 90th birthday, a limited edition (90, of course) book has been created by the Aplanat Galerie für Fotografie in Hamburg, with 42 photographs shot in the Penn style.
How AMAZING is that?

Book of the Month

June 17, 2007

One of the resolutions I gave myself a few months ago was to buy a new photography book each month, to try and build my small and rather sad collection.
This month, I purchased “Life and Work. Bernd and Hilla Becher” by Susanna Lange. I’ve been an admirer of their work since coming across it a […]
